August Newsletter

Our theme for this month will be dinosaurs. We will take a trip back in time, through millons of years to the incredible world of the dinosaurs. We will be able to recognize different types of dinosaurs and their characteristics, including size, appearance and eating habits.

At home, ask your child to tell you about what dinosaurs they know. See if they can tell you how big the dinosaurs were in comparison to things we see every day like houses, cars, trees, etc. Enjoy your child!

Plants

Last month we studied plants, fruits and vegetables. So we went outside and replanted some potted plants that were outgrowing their pots. In the process we got a little dirty and learned about roots.

July Calendar

This month, every day has a dress theme. Here is a quick reference for you:

• MONDAY -- Color Day. Dress all in the same color. 13 July: Yellow. 20 July: Green. 27 July: Orange.


• TUESDAY -- Pajama Day. Wear bedtime clothes.


• WEDNESDAY -- Wacky Wednesday. Wear crazy clothes that don't match, strange hats or glasses, a wig... anything goes! The weirder the better.


• THURSDAY -- Inside-Out and Backwards Day. Wear clothes backwards or inside-out.


• FRIDAY -- Water Day. Bring a swimsuit! As long as the weather cooperates, we'll be playing in the water outside. Don't forget a dry change of clothes.

MONDAY

Monday is Color Day, with a different color for each week. On July 13th, we'll wear yellow.

TUESDAY

Tuesday is Pajama Day. Wear your bedtime clothes, but no sleeping!

WEDNESDAY

Wacky Wednesday. Dress as strangely as you can!

THURSDAY

Thursday is Inside-Out and Backwards day.

FRIDAY

Friday is Water Day. Come dressed for the beach!
