May Activities

This month we celebrated Andy's birthday.  He turned four years old this year.  Happy birthday Andy!

In celebration of Parents' Day our students made picture frames with a special message for their parents and family.

Students had fun with Miss Ashley during Musical English time, and they did interesting art activities with Miss Sunny.

During the month of May students learned all about insects and spiders.  We spent a lot of time outside searching for ants, spiders,  butterflies, and little grasshoppers.  We learned the names and characteristics of over ten insects (and spiders), made bug masks, and even got our very own caterpillar/beetle pets!  We named them based on their personalities - Happy and Shy :)

In light of our field trip being canceled, SEM decided to have a picnic day in our school's front yard.  Students searched for bugs, ate delicious food, relaxed in our new tents, and drew pictures in the sun.

April Activities

April was our biggest month for birthdays!  We sang Happy Birthday to Daniel, Erika, Jin, and Jun.  Needless to say, SEM students loved all the cake this month!

This month SEM went on a field trip to Pohang's Sunrise Park.  Students had fun looking at the animals in the the little zoo, playing games, drawing pictures, and eating picnic food.  

Our theme for the month of April was the Animal Kingdom.  Students learned animal names by reading stories, colouring pictures, and playing a fun (and delicious) animal cookie matching game.  

Finally, SEM students recognized Arbor Day (or Planting Day) in Korea by planting their very own flowers and herbs.  The kids learned about the life cycle of plants and what they need in order to grow.
