January and February 2019

Love and Dream Class

We only had a few weeks left to perfect everything, before the big night. For this reason our theme for both January and February was to focus on the Year End Program.

Love class practiced their play, The Three Little Pigs, their song and dance, as well as their speeches. At the same time, Dream class practiced their speeches, using their percussion instruments, and their dance moves, too!

During these months we got to practice our reading, writing, and language skills, while still learning about different Montessori jobs.

and had a few days where the weather was nice...

There were no birthdays to celebrate in January. However, there were a lot of birthdays in February. The first, was Ju’s 7th birthday on February 8th, followed by Stephie’s 5th birthday on February 15th, and finally, Michael’s 6th birthday on February 27th.

On Friday February 22nd, we had our annual Mom’s Touch Hamburger party to celebrate all of the hard work we had been doing in preparation for the End of Year Program. It was very delicious!

The day we had all been waiting for was finally here.  On Saturday February 23rd, all of the students arrived at SEM nice and early for their final rehearsal. The boys looked very handsome wearing their black tuxedos, and bow ties, while the girls looked very pretty wearing their Ivory dresses, and flower tiaras. We were all very excited for the event!

At 5pm parents started to arrive, and just a little later we started the show with the procession.  Here each of the students walked down the red carpet to their seat on the stage.

This was followed with the awarding of the gifts. Each student was given a gift to thank them for their hard work over the last year.

We started with the speeches…

Followed by Dream Class’s Musical English’s performance of “L.O.V.E”.

And Love Class’s performance of “The Three Little Pigs”.

Then, Dream Class’s percussion performance of “It’s a Small World After all”.

And finally, Love Class’s dance performance of “Fame”.

It was a very busy January and February, but it was also a lot of fun, too!
