June Newsletter

Dear Parents,

This month we'll be studying botany. We'll learn about photosynthesis and the names of several different trees, plants and flowers. We'll also be learning about fruits and vegetables and we'll practice shopping for them in Stephanie's Supermarket. Classroom activities will include experiments as well as drawing and collecting different forms of botanical life.

At home, ask your child if he or she can identify the parts of any household plants you may have. Ask what the plant needs to survive and what would happen if the plant didn't get any sunlight. You can also quiz your child on the English names of any fruits or vegetables that you prepare at home. Don't forget, sharing day is every Friday.
Enjoy your child!

May Newsletter

Dear Parents,

This month, we’ll be learning about the solar system. Students will learn about the planets, what makes the Sun so hot, and why we have day and night here on Earth. Classroom activities will include constructing a model of the solar system and demonstrating the Earth’s rotation.

At home, take a few minutes with your child to look at the moon each night. Draw a picture every night and talk about how it’s changing. If you have the chance, try to watch a sunset or sunrise together as well. Is the sun really moving, or the Earth? Hopefully by the end of May we’ll know the answer.

Enjoy your child!

Bunny Rabbits!

Isabel's family came and brought their two rabbits while we were on our picnic last Friday. Everyone got a chance to pet them, and apparently Ashley took one of them for a piggyback ride...

Our First Field Trip

Last Friday, we went on our first field trip to a park in nearby Jigok-dong. We had a picnic, played games and sang songs. Then we all went and showed off our good manners in a fancy restaurant. After that, we fed some fish before going back to school.

Musical English

Everyone's a star on Tuesdays when Miss Grace comes to teach Musical English.
