July 2018

Love and Dream Classes

July was a very creepy crawly month! Our theme this month was from the Phylum Arthropoda (절지 동물). We studied “Insects and Arachnids”. It was a great opportunity for the students to learn about the different characteristics of both insects and arachnids, their habitats, and how they are both similar and different.

We also got to learn lots of new vocabulary, and some really cool and interesting facts, too!
Did you know...

Along with this exciting yet creepy theme, we had a lot of crazy dress up days, too! It was July after all!

To start off the crazy themes we had Wacky Wednesday, on July 4th. It was great to see the kids dress up in their funniest, craziest clothes.

On July 6th, we had Pajama Day. Everyone came to school in their bedtime clothes, but no sleeping was allowed! Well maybe a little....

We then had Crazy Hair day on July 20th, it speaks for itself really... The students came to school with their hair in a crazy, and wacky way!

Unfortunately, we had to cancel water day due to the heatwave!

During this fun filled month we continued to practice our handwriting and math skills, while still learning about different Montessori jobs.

We did some cool, fun experiments in science class....

Made some yummy food in cooking class.....

and had fun in art, and musical English class, too!

Our field trip this month was to Gyeongju Healing Park - Insect Museum on July 7th. Everyone arrived at school early wearing their school uniform, and was excited and ready to go! They had brought their yummy packed lunch with them, too!

We got to take some selfies on the bus..

At the park...

See some colorful dinosaurs...

Creepy crawly insects.....

More insects...

and some beetles...

because it was a very hot day, we decided to have our picnic lunch at school with the aircon.

Just a quick reminder, that our summer break starts on July 30th to August 3rd.

From all of us here at SEM we hope you have a great vacation!
