2019 November!

November was a quiet but busy month. We started working on our end of year speeches, we learned about some inventors and their inventions.

We had our annual garage sale, where we got to sell some of our old toys to our friends, and buy some of theirs! It was a lot of fun!

We also celebrated American Thanksgiving, and we had a great big feast. We ate so much that our tummies almost burst! A huge thank you to our support staff for cooking the feast for us!

2019 October!

October was a spooky month! In art we made scary skeletons and trick or treat bags.

For our field trip this month we went to a big park for a picnic. We ran around a lot, and went on a hike way up a mountain! It was very steep in some parts, we had a few people almost fall down!

For Halloween we decorated all of SEM, and we turned hope class into a haunted house. Mr. Andrew was very scary in the haunted house! And then we had lots of candy!

2019 September!

We have a new teacher here at Stephanie’s English Montessori! Every day has been an adventure in getting to know each other and get used to everyone’s routines and habits. We are excited to enter this new chapter of Stephanie’s English alongside Mr. Andrew!
We had four birthdays this month! So many!

Mr. Andrew got to find out how we celebrate birthdays here at Stephanie’s.

Since our monthly theme was art and artists, we went to the Art Museum for our field trip! We saw lots of different pieces, in several different mediums. There were art installations, paintings, sculptures, and more!
Then some of the older students went on a walk through the nearby forest trails. Each of them found something that they thought was interesting along the trail! What a day!

Finally, at the end of the month, we went outside to the flower garden in front of Stephanie's. We ran and we played with Mr. Andrew and took some photos!

2019 August!

Just look at their bright and shiny faces in the morning! We just got to the I-Joa Plaza for an exciting field trip!

At the plaza we were able to play with and explore fun science. Here we are with water pumps! And then, below we are taking a photo with Alladin and Jasmine on their magic carpet. And after that, we’re in a gravel pit.

We also found ourselves inside a movie theatre at the I-Joa Plaza! Look at those funky glasses we’re wearing!
Look where we are! It’s an art gallery! So much amazing artwork!

To round out the day, we released all of our energy by running around and playing outside in the nearby park.

What a day!

July 2019

Love Class and Dream Class

July was so much fun! Our monthly theme for this month was “Synonyms”. But first, we had to find out what a synonym is. Well… it is a word or phrase that has the same meaning as another word or phrase... sounds straight forward enough! So, during the course of July the we all set out to learn what they are, and how we use them every day in our reading and writing. This topic, along with the activities that we covered was a great way to help the students build upon their vocabulary, and their critical thinking.

During this month we got to practice our reading, writing, and language skills, while still learning about different Montessori jobs.

We also had fun in musical English and art class...

Reading, cooking, and science class!

We also had some downtime this month, too!

This month we had a lot of crazy dress up days to celebrate… It was July after all!

The first was Wacky Wednesday, on July 3rd.  We all dressed up in our funniest, craziest clothes.  Everyone came dressed up, and their costumes were spectacular.  It was such a funny day!

The following Friday, July 12th was Pajama Day. Everyone came to school in their bedtime clothes.  We even got to have some quiet time... although it didn't last very long!

And finally, on July 19th we had Crazy Hair Day. As you can see by the photos... it was a crazy day!

This month our field trip was to Yoohoo Kids Café in Yangduk.

We got to run around and chase Mr. Adrian...

Took part in making slime...

Posed for some photos, and had a packed lunch picnic at the kids cafe, too!.

It was a great way to end this fun, but sad month.

We also had to say goodbye to Mr. Adrian at the end of month. It was a very sad time for us all here at SEM! Thank you for all of the hard work, and dedication that you have given to the school, and the students over the last 3 years. We will all miss you! A LOT!!

Our summer break this year started on July 29th, and its back to school on August 5th. So, from all of us here at SEM we hope you had a great vacation!
