January 2023

 Happy Valentine's Day!

A lot happened in January and now as February is coming to an end, so thank you for your patience.

In January, we spent most of our time together practicing our speeches and preparing for our year end program. Please look forward to that in our next blog post.

We took advantage of whatever time we had outside as January was an especially cold month. We explored the renovated walking area and had a lot of fun playing around. We made sure to always stay with a walking buddy.

As usual, we had our science themed English lesson on the power of regeneration. It took a week or two, but we were able to see our garlic regrow just by keeping it in water!

In the pictures, we were on day 1, prepping our garlic for the two-week long experiment. We had to wear gloves because garlic is quite stinky!

The top picture is day 1, and the bottom picture is after 2 weeks.

As usual, we had our robot class, and on these 2 days, students enjoyed knocking down bowling pins with the cars they built.

Here, some of our students opted to paint instead of draw. They enjoyed getting their hands dirty and sharing the paint, but it was a little messy. They love painting rainbows!
The pictures above and below look like rainbows, and they look very similar in color, but still have each student's personal touch.  The photo below with our youngest student is just as colorful and he clearly was happy to share what he painted.

On the left looks like a pretty black shadow with red, and on the right, the painting looks like something inspired by Vincent Van Gogh.
On the left, our student painted a rainbow. Isn't it pretty? She loves bright colors and especially loves the color pink.

The picture on the right shows one of our youngest students show casing an array of colors, but not quite in a rainbow like the others. She put her own personal touch and made it clear she was the painter by painting her name.

We've celebrated one birthday so far in February, but please look forward to seeing photos from three birthday parties in our February blogpost! Thank you for reading if you've made it this far, and we look forward to sharing another month of fun and hectic memories. The picture below is our students preparing to practice their speeches.
