November Activities

At the beginning of the month, each child brought something from home that they no longer used and put it in the SEM Garage Sale.  They learned about buying and selling, and everyone went home with something new to play with.

This month we celebrated Justin's birthday.  Happy Birthday Justin!

Our theme this month was cooking.  Our students learned how to cook Korean pickled onion, peppers, and radish.  We also cooked a traditional Thanksgiving meal!

In the days leading up to Thanksgiving the students enjoyed doing various turkey-themed art projects.

 We started a new fun activity at SEM this month - designing and building train tracks!  The kids look forward to this job a lot, and as you can see they're very good at it.  We also had fun practicing our Beauty and the Beast play, creating snowy scene pictures, and playing our "build a sentence" game.

To prepare for December, SEM students helped decorate the school's Christmas trees.  They did a great job!

October Activities

This month our Love and Dream classes had a Picnic Day in the park!  The kids were excited to get out of the classroom and eat delicious kimbap.

We also celebrated Lauren's birthday this month with cake and gift giving.  The students liked seeing her baby pictures.

On October 31st, students at SEM celebrated Halloween Day by dressing up in costumes, trick or treating, and walking through our very own spooky haunted house.

September Activities

This month's theme was the Environment, so students at SEM learned about the '3 R's':  Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling.  

Love and Dream classes made musical instruments by reusing old plastic water bottles.  They filled the bottles with either rice, sand, or rocks to make a beautiful noise.

The students enjoyed making Balloon Art.  They were very creative, drawing faces on their balloons to look like people.  

Dream Class students work very hard on Montessori jobs every day.  After doing their jobs they enjoy art time.

The weather was so nice that we decided to take our dragon outside to enjoy the sun!
