September 2018

Love and Dream Class

This year was so much fun! We can’t believe it’s already the start of our second semester! At the beginning of this month, we welcomed Andy to Dream class.  It was fun for everyone to get to know him. This also gave us an opportunity to review the school rules one more time.

Welcome Andy

Our monthly theme for September was “opposites”.  This was such a fun theme to learn.  We learned some new songs and dances...

Got to see some examples of different opposites, learned some new vocabulary words, and continued to practice our handwriting and math skills, while still learning about different Montessori jobs.

We also had fun in musical English and art class...

Cooking and science class...

... and we also got to watch Miss Stephanie clean the SEM snails, too!

For our field trip this month, we were supposed to go to Hwanho Haemaji Park. Unfortunately, due to the cold weather we were unable to go. Instead, we all went to Yoohoo Kids Cafe in Yangduk, where it was much warmer!

We got to jump on the trampoline...

Play in the ball pool...

run around and play some more...

and have a yummy picnic lunch, too!

We got to celebrate several birthdays this month, and eat a lot of birthday cake, too!  Agatha’s birthday was on September 4th, Kane’s birthday was September 15th, however since this was a Saturday we celebrated on September 14th, and finally, we had Jio’s birthday on September 20th.

Happy birthday Agatha

Happy birthday Kane

Happy birthday Jio

August 2018

Love and Dream Class

We hope you all enjoyed your summer break, and were nice and refreshed to start the new month.
Our theme for August was “Ocean Life”, and since this was a very big topic to learn about we decided to focus on ocean plants and animals.
We learned about their different habitats, the food they eat, and how they are both similar and different.  We also got to learn lots of new vocabulary words, too!
Unfortunately we were unable to go on our field trip to Kyungbuk Science Education Center (and aquarium) as they were doing building work.

However, During this fun filled month we continued to practice our handwriting and math skills, while still learning about different Montessori jobs.

We did some cool, fun experiments in science class....

Made some yummy food in cooking class.....

Had fun in art, and musical English class.....

and.... We also got to go outside, enjoy the nice weather, and work together on a scavenger hunt, too!
