January Activities

This month the students at SEM were very busy practicing for the annual Year End Program.  Every day they practiced their hip hop routine, speeches, and play.

SEM students enjoyed playing in the snow!  The snow may not have stayed long, but they enjoyed it while it lasted.

Students had lots of funny making their own pizzas for lunch.  Everyone agreed they were very delicious!

Miss Lisa reviewed reading and writing numbers with Dream Class students.  They especially loved playing the numbers memory game.

DECEMBER ACTIVITIES

This month our students at SEM were hard at work practicing their reading and writing.  They were also kept busy practicing their hip hop routine!

On December 19th, Koreans across the country went to the polls to vote for who they thought should be President.  At SEM we learned about the election process, and even held our own election!  They had fun voting for their friends.

On December 24th, SEM had its annual Christmas party!  Santa even made an appearance and showed us some magic tricks.  The students were amazed!  After taking photos with Santa, he went back to the North Pole and we ate a delicious Christmas feast.

November Activities

At the beginning of the month, each child brought something from home that they no longer used and put it in the SEM Garage Sale.  They learned about buying and selling, and everyone went home with something new to play with.

This month we celebrated Justin's birthday.  Happy Birthday Justin!

Our theme this month was cooking.  Our students learned how to cook Korean pickled onion, peppers, and radish.  We also cooked a traditional Thanksgiving meal!

In the days leading up to Thanksgiving the students enjoyed doing various turkey-themed art projects.

 We started a new fun activity at SEM this month - designing and building train tracks!  The kids look forward to this job a lot, and as you can see they're very good at it.  We also had fun practicing our Beauty and the Beast play, creating snowy scene pictures, and playing our "build a sentence" game.

To prepare for December, SEM students helped decorate the school's Christmas trees.  They did a great job!
